Just took delivery of the Maxxus. Going in for the first time tonight.
I got the stereo/ipod option with the full remote. I was playing around to get the ipod to work and when I mounted it on the base I expected it to charge. The ipod after sitting in the base overnight gave me the message that it needed to be recharged then went off. Anyone have an ansewer to whether this is supposed to be a charging base? Seems silly for it not to be.
Thanks,
jd

Reminds me of the Guinness ads: "Brilliant! Just Brilliant!"

I heard it doesn't support 8 track tapes, either. What are they thinking?

According to Sundance Technical Support, the ability of the docking bay to charge was discontinued after some issues with moisture and charge current not playing well together and damaging ipods.

Which is why Hot Spring uses a wireless dock which stays in the house.

Just curious, how much did you pay for the Stereo/Ipod option?

Roughly about $700.
I like the speakers and radio. Haven;t been ebale to figure out yet how to get the ipod to even play yet. Might have to read the manual.
I understand the explanation why but you'd think they could figure that out. It's not rocket sicence. .
