WOW...SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!    ;)   I don't think anyone expected you to have a spa so soon.  But welcome to the Jacuzzi club.  You will LOVE your J-365!!   What color combo did you go with?

Well, I'm off to SPATOPIA...It's a cool, crisp 60 degrees here in good ole' Nebraska, and the sun is just about down...perfect weather for soakin'!

The next 2 weeks will be some of the LONGEST weeks of your life waiting for your new tub!!

I ended up with the Silverwood and Platinum color combo.  Also got the metal finish around the jets.  Hydraulic Cover lifter, nature 2, wood steps, and ozone.

I need to get my slab poured in a hurry.  Just 2 more weeks of soaking in my bath tub!

PS...How many posts do I have?  Shall we see who the winner of the bet is?

What?! You're not gonna tell us how much you got it for?  ;D

I've been enjoying my J345 for a year now. My only regret is not buying it sooner.

What was the deciding factor for the purchase? I'm assuming price but thought I'd ask anyhooo.

Btw, nice color combo 8-)

Lots of things factored into my decision.

1.  It was in my price range $7199 plus tax.  I was gonna hold out for my $7000 price but decided that I had waited long enough.  I was ready to buy.

2.  I like the simplicity of use.  You turn each seat's air either on or off and the diverter valves were very easy to figure out.

3.  The jets provided the hydrotherapy I wanted on my back and it also had a seat that I could easily scrunch down and hit my neck the way I wanted.

I know exactly what seat you're talkin about. Back right corner in my picture. The one with the 10 FX jets. I spend 90% of my time in that seat when I soak. One of the best seats I tested in any tub.

As I predicted when presented with the 3 spas (Envoy, Geneva, 365) and your price point.  The 365 does sell for less.

I am glad you pulled the trigger.

Enjoy!

Funny thing is, even if I could have gotten the Envoy in my price range, I took one last wet test in it yesterday (drove 40 minutes to do so) and decided that it wasn't the spa for me.  It's a very nice spa.  But no seat in the tub allowed me to hit my neck easily and I decided that I like the circular motion on my back better than the moto massage.  So after all the wheeling and dealing with the hotsprings rep, I decided it wasn't the right spa afterall.

Now, if I could have gotten the Geneva in my price range, I probably would have taken it over the J-365.  It's just more spa.  But After a 2nd wet test in the J-365, I know that I will love it.  Each seat provides a little different therapy a nd the combination of all tyhe seats does an excellent job of hitting all my problem areas.

Are you sure you like that combination? Chestnut and Harvest Wheat is a nice combo too, you know. If you call your dealer back now, you still may be able to change it...

Great for you, I'm sure you'll love it. Maybe you could have saved another $500 or so by waiting until January when they bring in the new '08s but this is about getting your spa life started and its getting cold so the tubbing season is getting rolling.

Congrats.

Yeah, if I played hardball I probably could have saved a little money.  But I don't feel like I got a bad deal at all.  I saw on-line where others bought this tub for $6200 plus tax.  But I wasn't willing to wait any longer for my the ultimate deal.  So my dealer made $2000 on the deal, that's fine by me.

I was satisfied with my deal and my dealer, that's really all that matters to me.  In 2 weeks I will be soaking.  It's gonna be a long 2 weeks.

Are there any books out there that detail how to maintain your spa?

If you use the search function, there is some great info on this board about maintaining your spa, with links to other places as well.  Do you know which chemicals you're going to use? (i.e. bromine/chlorine/baquaspa)  We had to wait 6 weeks for our hot tub, and that's how I filled my time...researching maintenance issues.  Sounds like you have a lot to do though, if you don't even have your concrete pad yet....

Well, it kind of hurt spending that much money.  But I plan to reap the rewards tenfold in the health benefits it will bring.  If I didn't need the therapy, I probably would have held out longer.

But it is nice to have that off my plate.  The thought of which spa I would buy at what price dominated my thoughts for some time.  So it is nice to have that out of the way.  I now find myself daydreaming about sitting in the 102 degree spa with a nice cold beverage on a brisque or even cold evening.

Congratulations solo.  Any pain you are feeling now, from spending the money, will disappear with your first soak.  Now, get to work on that pad!  When dealers told me that I would sleep so much better, I kinda chuckled.  Sleeping has never been a problem for me.  Oh my word, were they right.  I sleep sooooooooo deeply now, it's unreal.  While I don't have medical issues, like you, my body is so relaxed and pain free.  I wasn't planning on being a daily soaker, but now I can't miss a day.  Enjoy your spa!

I still think he caved and could have easily gotten a better deal but for a lot of people having the spa is what counts! :)

I think if I waited her out til the end of the year I could have gotten a better deal.  But she did come $1000 of her first price (not MSRP, but her first offer to me).  So I am somewhat pleased.

1.  I am in pain daily and need the tub, so waiting was getting harder and harder.
2.  I fill my jetted tub once or twice daily to soak.  This was costing me money on the water bill.
3.  I was tired of thinking about it.  I was just ready to by.

So could I have done better?  Probably.   But I am not displeased nor do I have any remorse.  I am looking forward to my hydrotherapy as well as having some good soaks with my best friend.  Not to mention, after all the dickering with the Hotsprings people, this seemed like a steal and was within $200 of my original budget.

I seriously thought about buying a Sundance Hamilton (700 series).  But it ended up being too strong.  The jets kind of hurt and it just didn't have any one seat that I absolutely loved.  But after looking at them and sitting in them, they do seem like a quality product.

I think the Jacuzzi really is the tub for me.  It not only provided the right hydrotherapy, but it also fits my style.  I never buy the most expensive anything.  But I always try to buy good quality stuff.  I am a function over form kind of person too.  The Jacuzzi is very easy to use, efficient in design, effective at hydrotherapy, and reasonably priced.  I hope I still love it this much a year from now!

Solo,

Congrats on your new spa.  I'm a newbie and have been trolling here for some time in an effort to educate myself as my wife and I looked at spas.  You've said it several times and I totally agree...we've found that wet testing is very important.  My wife fell in love with a Sundance 700 series for the price/features and the comfort of it while sitting in it dry.  I insisted from what I had read on these forums that she wet test it (and any spa we chose to consider).  We finally found a dealer with one that was wet and got in and found, like you, that the jets kind of hurt.  Others may not experience this; however, it sure stopped us cold on the Sundance as the price was sweet and my wife wanted to pull the trigger.  She was glad I insisted that we wet test.  Since then, she's asked several friends with spas about wet testing and NONE of them said they wet tested before buying!  I wasn't too shocked as many of the 'sales' people tried to say you don't need to wet test.  Sure glad we followed the advice of many on this forum who throw it out like a mantra.  We're still looking; however, we've narrowed the choices down to dealers who are happy to have us come and test the spas wet.  Our local Hot Spring dealer has actually insisted that we wet test before she'll sell us any spa.  We've been there a couple of times and their Vanguard is still on our short list.

Again, congrats on the new Jacuzzi and thanx for starting some dialogues that have been quite helpful in our purchasing journey.  I'm sure you will still be happy with your purchase for many years to come.

Ditto what Doobie said.  My wife and I have narrowed down to 4 manufacturers after dry testing and comparing features & quality.  The wet tests begin this week.  That's the only way I'd be able to make a decision.  The more I read and dry test, the more confused I get about which of the 4 I like the best.  From what you all tell me, the wet test will be the key!

Doobie,

The wet test will decide it for you. When my wife and I were looking this past winter, we were torn between the Sundance Optima(I was in love with it) and the Caldera Aspire(Wife and I both liked that one). At first the Aspire was the only one we were able to wet test,  then one day the Sundance dealer called and said they set up the Optima(someone else was also interested). Then in one day we went and wet tested the Optima(I did not like it as much as I thought I would) and then went to test the Aspire and then went back to the Sundace dealer to try the Optima again.

Needless to say we bought the Aspire in April and love it. The Optima felt good dry but with water in it, in seemed too deep and the jets just did feel good.
