Hi,
We bought the Beachcomber 378 LE the other day. Since there isn't any information on the lower end spas here, I'll tell you all about my installation/use/maintenance  experience as time goes on.
There are families out there that can't afford a $10K tub; we need more ratings
and reviews on the lower end tubs.
This tub is large and roomy...not a lot of jets but I've read you really don't need a ton
of jets, anyway. It came with a hush circ pump which the dealer assured me was fine
for this tub; I didn't need to upgrade. (All are set to give you btwn 13-15 psi, I believe).
Came standard with lights, outside housing under the steps (limited edition models), etc.

Beachcomber is far from "low end" my dear though the 378 is in the lower end of line up. It has the same construction, insulation, hush pump and componants as the 750 (the top of the line @ $14,000+) except your spa has fewer jets and less horsepower.
The 378 wasn't around when I sold Beachcomber all of those years but I was in the store last week and saw it. I'm really impressed and like you said, not everyone needs to or wants to spend 10K on a spa but I'm sure you and your family will be very happy with it! Congrats!!!

Thanks, Steve and all. I didn't get  a notification that you responded, sorry for the delay :).
Found out today that it'll be delivered in 2 weeks. Can't wait! Â We've cleaned the deck
and now we're looking into stain, so we'll have a spiffy deck before it arrives.
Just in time for fall, too. YES!
Oh, and I meant the lower series of Beachcomber, not that the tub itself is low end. :o)

I have a two year old 580 and love it. The 378 looks pretty similiar and the price sounds great. I pad about $8,300 two years ago for my 580, the only options I have above yours is the Turbo pump and cover lifter. The 378 should be a real fun tub!

Hi all,
It's installed and running! We've been in it twice so far and I'm lovin' life. The jets/pump is plenty powerful enough for us; as a matter of fact we usually have to
dial the jets down  to tolerate it on max.
Our current problem: Getting the bromine level correct. Â We're using beachcomber's
bromate salts and their rainbow tester kit, and the frog.
We started out fine, with the frog set at 6. Â It was installed last THurs and by Sat the
bromine level was nil. Â It looked clear in the tester. Â I made a mistake and turned
the frog down to 5. Â But last night I put 2 caps-full of bromate into the tub, and then
called the dealer who suggested another 4 caps full making it 6 in the last, oh 18 hrs.
It still is only at about 1.0 on the tester! Â
The PH was high the other day and we used the PH minuser and it worked. But I
noticed that as the bromine level slowly climbs the ph slowly drops, so I'm wondering
if the PH level was high because the bromine level was so low the other day.
PLEASE help, if you have any suggestions about getting the bromine level up. Should
we throw in yet more  caps full of bromate?  Seems excessive, but you guys are the
experienced ones. Â
Also, I'm curious if there's a discount place out there on the web to buy more frog
components, bromate, ph whatever. Â THanks,
