The World's Greatest Spa Salesman passed away last night. :'(
(http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b206/EastTexasSpa/roger.jpg)
Roger Falcone had been selling HotSpring Spas around the country for over 20 years and had a lot of friends in this industry. He was the owner of Spa Professional Associates and would provide dealer support at various fairs, home shows, and events. He was a very passionate man and wonderful with his customers. He brought the joys of hydrotherapy to tens of thousands of people over the years and did it the right way.
Roger was the person who recommended that East Texas Spa hire me after interviewing me back in 1999. He met his future wife Sherrill while working a show for us in Tyler and he moved from San Diego to Texas into a beautiful home on Lake Palestine. Once he got moved in, he became an official Texan!
Roger was great at relating to people from all walks of life. He was never a know-it-all, but would constantly ask questions about everything, he was always striving towards understanding what the customers wanted.
Roger leaves behind a wife and children and many, many close friends. He and my boss had sat down last night and had a good talk about life in general. Roger was upbeat and excited about the future. He later suffered an apparent heart attack while listening to karaoke at a local establishment.
Roger was a great guy, a good friend, and we will all miss him.

I just heard from Phil (PKUD). SHOCKING NEWS.
Roger et al have worked events for us for years. First show was when he worked for NDS and I demanded the best team.
He has been a great contribution to our company and a great friend.
Roger, you will be missed. :'(

I don't know him!
But it is never a good thing to loose a friend.

forgive me for polluting a serious subject, but people, how many times do I have to tell you, Karaoke kills, don't do it!

The dude could sing and dance, as well as sell hot tubs.

I'm very sorry to hear about the bad news of Roger Falcone. I don't know how old he was but he went way too early. My condolences to the spa community and his family. Life is way too short.........................

Very sad Chris. If you remember, I spoke with Roger on the phone for about 45 mintues almost a year ago while he was at your store. He didn't know me from Adam, but he willingly answered all my questions about the spa business and gave me some pointers and insight. My condolences to his family.

It is sad to see good friends pass, but he left his imprint behind. We all must go, not by choice, but to remind others to love what you do, and to do what you love, while you are here. I am sure he lived a full life, but he left too soon. Our condolences to his family and his loved ones and friends, who will remeber him.

Roger hired me three months ago to join the East Texas Spa team, and although I only knew him for a short while, I feel honored to have learned from not only the best salesman, but a truly great man. He was very patient, kind, and an amazing teacher. He will be missed. :'(

It's good to see you on here MB!
I sincerely appreciate all of your condolences in regards to Roger...thank you.
Roger was a great salesman, but the worst service tech I've ever seen next to yours truly. About 4 years ago, he sold a spa to a couple who wanted us to dispose of their broken down off-brand tub. Since we were so swamped with making deliveries, Roger and a helper volunteered to drive 80 miles to their residence and remove their old spa. The old spa was hardwired in and he wasn't sure how to disconnect it, so he decided to just cut the wires with a pair of dykes. He asked the homeowner if the power was shut off and he replied "It sure is!"
When Roger cut into the wire, it started smoking and sparking and the only thing that saved him was the rubber grips on the dykes. It burned a perfect half circle in each side of the blade! We still have the dykes back in the service department as a reminder to always check the power before working on the spas.
Playing paintball is something we do as a company out at my boss's estate. We'll have 2 teams of 25 going after each other. The best times are at night.
Roger's first time to play paintball had him a little nervous.
"Do the balls hurt when they hit you?"
"Hell yeah, they hurt. Here, wear this protective vest and it'll give you some padding...take away some of the sting" I told him as I handed him a flourescent orange hunting vest (he was on the other team).
"Great...thanks!" as he put it on and headed outside. (The boss's son told him that he'd been suckered, dangit!)
The last time Roger played paintball with us, he and Joe Kennedy accidentally took cover in some Bull Nettle (or stinging nettle). They were in some serious pain. All of us surrounded them and started unzipping our flies to pee on them as that is the best way to stop the stinging. Roger and Joe jumped up and took off running before we could hose them down good (although I did manage to wing him from about 20 yards while he was running away, but that was years ago before my prostrate started swelling and my flow was diminished).

I've had the pleasure of working with Roger in the past. He truly is a great person. I enjoyed getting to know him albeit briefly.
Term, I know you and the gang at ET Spa have been great friends with Roger. I know he will be missed as part of your family.
Please send my condolences to Sheryl and everyone there.
Vanguard (aka to you as Longhorn)

For those interested, there will be a memorial for Roger this Saturday August 25th at The Woods Baptist Church in Roger's adopted home town of Tyler, TX. Services will be at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.
