Electircal Problem (Beachcomer 740 Dig 3000)

My breaker keeps on tripping. I thought maybe water or mostier so I drained let sit for more then 24 hrs and refilled the water. The breaker still it tripping (GFCI Breaker) There is a "click" when the power is turned on but almost instantly the breaker will trip.

I did notice 2 fuses in the panel (Digital 3000 model) but it is a holiday Monday and everything is closed. nothing looks to be burnt / black but I was not really looking closely for any discoloring.

I'm just wondering if other people have has similar problems and what was the result.

Might be a heater, you will have to disconnect the two wires to the heater and then see if the breaker holds, If it still trips start disconnecting other items i.e. pump, ozone, light...

Working with electricity can kill so if you are not 100% comfortable with it call someone who is.

More than likely it is your heater.  On the 3000 pack  if you are going to disconnect the heater the contact screws are located to the right of fingers #1 & 3.  If the breaker stays on after that then you need to replace the heater assembly. If not then as Gary stated you need to start unplugging the peripherals one by one till the breaker stops tripping.  If none of this works  call your electrician for it will be a problem with your breaker or wiring.  But as stated b4 dont start touching the the internal board unless your are competent in what you are doing.  For a new board will cost you about $425-$500 CDN

It appears that the Transformer is in the way of getting the lead wires off!

I don't mind taking the leads off but #'s 1 & 3 are very tight. Is this the only solution on disconnecting the heater?

you could disconnect the leads right from the the element at the bottom inside the pack area    but be careful when trying to loosen the 3/8 nuts  to much torque and you will snap the tips of the element.  Thats why it is usually best to take off the leads at the post.

Well it would be far more easier to disconnect from the element, I take it from your comments I have to be very gingerly in taking the nut of though.

If it is the element that needs to be replaced does the tub need to be drained? or is the element in a well.

if your tub is under warranty  then the heater housing plus element will be replaced as on unit  if it is not under warranty then just the element can be replaced. The tub does not have to be drained if you have an LE tub with the protec system the gate vaves just have too be closed
