Need some info

We are getting a new Hot tub to replace the old one that was with the house when we moved in. Now this tub is on concrete block's. Should I keep the new one tub on the concrete block's or just put it on the ground. By the way the reason they did this I think is you can get to the tub for the deck & not walk down on the ground. The block left's the tub up 2 feet so you can get from the deck to the tub . Any help would be great. New tub will be here in three to four week's & I want to have everything ready.

Shawnm, Can you post a picture?  This is a great forum for ideas and information. It is often hard to visualize something and make suggestions. I bet if you can post a picture, you will get some great responses. My first thought was that your electric hook-up is already there, that is a big plus!

Yes the 220 is set up. The old tub has a leak try to fix it two times time for a new one. But if I put the new one on the block's I will need to add more block's I don't mind do this  . I will take some pic tonight & post

Most manufacturers do not want you to put the tub on the ground.  If you remove blocks, you will still need some kind of pad to support the spa.

What spa is on the way?

If you are saying the tub was elevated by blocks in the corners etc. They I would say 110% NO do not do that.  Too dangerous for one.  Two could damage the tub.

If you have to elevate it build a deck or build a raised patio.

The block go all around the tub & are in the middle to. Not just the corners

You need to read Master's requirements for a spa foundation, and follow them.  

Any damage to the spa caused by a bad base or foundation will not be covered by the warranty.  

Does Master have a website where you can look up this stuff?  If not at least visit the dealer and get the lowdown from them.

Patio concrete blocks are fine when used to support the entire footprint of the spa. Are you saying these blocks lift the spa 2 feet up??

I'd love to see a picture of that too as I'm having a difficult time picturing that!

Shawn you're spending thousands of dollars on a nice new spa.

It's like an investment....don't "scrimp" on the foundation.

That would be like buying a nice new home and then telling
the builder.....can ya cut any corners on the foundation?

Get a small concrete pad poured.....it'll cost about $500-$700
which is not very much compared to your new hot tub.
