AUTOMATED RESPONSE PROGRAM:>>>>>>

<Chris> IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE AS HE IS EXTREMELY BUSY HELPING HIS WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS WHO ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF <East Texas Spa>.  ALTHOUGH UNDERPAID AND UNDERAPPRECIATED, <Chris> REMAINS A LOYAL AND VALUABLE ASSET FOR <East Texas Spa> AND SHOULD BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AS HE DILLIGENTLY CONTINUES TO SELL <portable hot tubs/spas/HotSpringSpas> AT A PHENOMENAL RATE, THEREBY INCREASING <rpg's> BANK ACCOUNT.

END AUTOMATED RESPONSE PROGRAM:cc/fin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Just layin' low and chucklin' in my stomach wif' da fidgets...

Oh heavens yes.

I dated a young thang from the Great State for a couple of years before meeting wooing and marrying Mrs. Chas.

She schooled me in many facets of the lanquage, including special pronunciation such as:

Chile - Pronounced like 'Child' without the 'd.' Means any person of any age.
Rot - Opposite of Left.
Stars - things that take you from floor to floor in a building.
Heeya- where you currently are, as in "Get yer butt over heeya Rot now"
Pious - as in "Please pious the grits Heeya honey'chile"
Sheet - see above
Fanger - digit on one's hand, as in, "You best not be pointin' your dang fanger over heeya.."

And then she taught me a whole range of new and exciting words and phrases:

hissy fit - state of extreme agitation. Not a pretty site...very common on some spa boards.
eat up ( or sometimes 'et up') - eaten up, destroyed, oxidized. Also: consumed by jealousy as in, "He was et up by the fact that Chas didn't respond to his hissy fit.
fess up - admit to something.
fit to be tied -really upset.
fixins - special food; the rest of the meal, excluding the main dish.
fixin' ta - getting ready to do something.
fix - a tight spot, as in, "With the revelations of his brother, he's in a real fix now."
frog-strangler - an extraordinary amount of rain.
galoot - Non-friendly. Sometimes used to describe an irascible character who may actually be admired, as in, "Terminator is such a dad-gum galoot."
go ahead on - "You go ahead, I'll catch up later."
go to the house - go in for dinner/supper.
gully-washer -an extraordinary amount of rain. Not to be confused with "Gully Warsher" which would be the Midwest Version.
howdy - How do you do?
lit out - took off, started out, or absconded across some terrain. As in - Mike yelled at the would-be spa thieves, fully expecting they would have lit out by then.
looker - a pretty girl. My gf at the time was one of these.
maverick - a loner, an independent cuss, wild.
norther -a storm; not as bad as a blue norther.
nu-uh - no. Most common response from Texas women.
ole cuss - My former gf is most likely one of these now.
over yonder - a directional phrase meaning "over there." May or may not be combined with a quick, barely noticeable jerk of the head in no particular direction.

Yup. opened the 'turtle deck' and pulled out a dozen yella roses.

Had to be yella, of course.

Thanks Peachy.

I thought of two more -

This gf of mine had a father who was so very proud to be Texan. He tol' me once,
"Never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he is, he'll tell you on his own. If he ain't, they's no need to embarrass him."

But on another occasion he said, "They's only two kind of a man. Ones from Texas, and ones what wishes they was."

Fully acknowledged kind sir. I'm only repeating what a real Texan once told me.

However, I'll have you know that I do own two full-sized pickup trucks...
