Looking for some feedback on the failure rate on the stereo Sundance uses on their current spas. I am not trying to stir up anything, I think the system sounds good but my experience with in deck/cabinet mounted stereos on spas is not good.

The stereo in my 2003 Optima is still working as it did when new.  That's thru 3 Minnesota winters.  Speaker sound is crystal clear.  Overall I'm extremely impressed with this setup.
The stereo unit itself is made by a company called Poly Planar, they specialize in marine grade electronics.

If you want to see the stereo up close, with specs, etc,  check out:

www.polyplanar.com

Look for the stereo link, and also the spa products link.

In our Maxxus, the sound cuts in and out, really enoying.
I have to power off the system and turn it back on for it to work at normal volume for a while. Hopefully the dealer will come in and fix it this summer.

How long have you had the Maxxus?

Does the stereo only cut out if you turn the volume up?

I purchased it in spring of 2005.
It started happening spring 2006. It cut's out regardless of how loud I am listening to it. It doesn't cut out completely, it just gets really low volume where you can barely notice it is still on. The only temporary fix is to power off and on. Then I get another few minutes of music heh.

I am sure it will get fixed soon. I am not concerned.

Hello just had the spa tech out here to look at my sterero on my cameo, Tech told me sometimes the ozonater will cause feedback to the stereo . Makes  the volume go up and down with out any input, The fix is to move ozonater away from stereo, This is coming directly from sundance. Also he removed speakers and found the connection to be corroded , cleaned up both sides works great. sorry for the sp. Hope this helps

How old is your spa/stereo?  Was this work warranty?  Just curious; not trying to create a scene.  Most spa stereos have 1 year warranty regardless of the warranty on the rest of the spa.  Many dealers will eat a service call like that when spa is shortly our of warranty. :-?

IIRC, the warranty on the Sundance stereo is one year.

Sundance and Jacuzzi Stereo's are identical so...No problems here with my 2003 J-370 stereo/CD either.  Also a Planar head end and pop up speakers.

The stereo system on a Sundance has a 2 year warranty.  The ozone system has a 1 year warranty.

Do they put the subwoofer in the Jacuzzi now?  They didn't before.
