Filter for Marquis Epic

Any recommendation for filter for Marquis Epic, I am looking at Unicel 5CH-502.  Will it fit my Epic? The measurement looks right but buying online and return it is a big hassle so I just want to make sure.  Advise on other brands are appreciated as well.  Thanks in advance.

That one will work but it is a 50SQ FT filter and I suggest going with a 35SQ Ft. You will have better water flow and the spa will still filter as good. Get the 5CH-352.

Assuming the same filter media, I would expect that the larger the area, the better the water flow - more pores for the water to get through.  All things being equal, if a larger filter fits, it should also go longer before needing cleaning.

from exeperiece I can tell you that the 35 sq ft gives much better flow!

Reality is when filters are the same size and they put more pleats in i.e. 35 sq ft vs. 50 sq ft. they just make it tighter.  It makes for less flow and harder to clean.

Why not go into yor dealer and get the correct replacement filter.  Then you know you are getting the right one and not some cheap nock-off.
If its price, how much are you really saving?

Go with the 35 sq. ft.  That is what the new Epics ship with from the factory.

Thanks for clearing that up.  In that case, it makes sense.  For my tub there are two options that will fit, the standard one one approximatly 8" tall (35 sq ft)and another 11.5" (50) that still fits in the filter well, and stays submerged below the low water level.  They have the same pleats and media, so my assumption is that the taller filter will afford more flow, and more area to fill before clogging.

In some cases, well..."YES".  
it's not that Unicell makes a bad product.  In fact they make a very good product.  The problem is that unicell products don't always fit correctly.  Take the Cal Spas 75sq.' filters the unicel verision is a quarter inch to short and debris bypasses the filter and gets into the circ pump (if so equiped).  The money one saves by purchasing a knock-off will quickly disappear into the cost of a non-warranty service call and possibly a burnt out circ pump
