Emerald Spas, headquartered in Kentwood, Mich., announced in February that it had completed the acquisition of Great Lakes Home & Resort of Holland, Mich., manufacturer of Great Lakes Spas. Great Lakes' Almost Heaven Sauna company will be retained by former Great Lakes president Rick Mouw. Emerald will continue operations at the Great Lakes' facility in Holland and market the newly acquired products under the Great Lakes brand.
Emerald Spas says the acquisition will strengthen the offerings of both companies. "Each company is dedicated to providing their dealers with innovative products and strong marketing support," says Kristin Woiteshek, director of dealer relations for Great Lakes. "This transaction is going to bring together the resources, tools and capabilities needed to aggressively grow the Great Lakes brand."
According to Ray Lohner, national sales manager of Emerald Spas, "This fits well into both companies' growth plans and Emerald's long-standing strategic goals. The union of these two companies supports our 30-year mission — to offer consumers higher-quality, better-priced, more-enjoyable home spas matching their lifestyles, needs and budgets."
