Hi everyone,

[glow]Do you use a polish/cleaner on your tubs shell before refills?[/glow]

-No, never
-Sometimes
or
-What the heck are you talkin' about?

Any other comments on why you do or don't use one would be greatly apreciated.

Never tried polish TM. It couldn't hurt though.

I have used the Leisure Time stuff that came with my start up kit, but only on areas above the waterline. When it runs out, I doubt I'll bother to purchase more.

Sometimes. Â I do it at least once per year and only when the weather is warm. Â I use Leisure Time Spa Gloss.

There seems to be a bit of a waterline mark and I use a magic eraser on it.

LeisureTime Spa Gloss is more a protectant than a cleaner. Â You apply it and rub it off like an automotive protectant. Â Makes everthing shine. Â Very easy to use or I wouldn't bother.

If you have an older tub made out of a gel-coat fiberglass then yes, the gel-coat needs to be polished every year or so to keep it smooth and looking good. But most spas currently in use are a form of acrylic. Acrylic does not usually need any form of polish or wax. When an acrylic spa starts to look dull it is usually due to a hard water build up. An acid based cleaner works great at removing the calcium or scale.
