Air Control Valves

Does anyone follow the advice below?

"When not using your spa, keep the Air Control Valves closed. These are the valves or dials on top of the spa that allow air to mix with the water coming out of your jets. Besides these valves letting cold air into the spa water and increasing heating costs, this air can also be full of air borne debris and algae spores that can cloud your water and increases your chemical usage. "

What's you take on that advice?

Well, on the spas I have sold which ran the jets regularly, I told folks to keep 'em closed. But I was mainly doing that because of the noise.

Also, sometimes having them open when the jets kick in will inflate the cover a bit, if it fits like it should.

I always close my air control valves when we close the tub. I agree that it can cool the water.  I guess the air injection systems are different from different manufacturers...but I am not sure how. That would be interesting information because I think I remember some tubs being able to introduce fragrance through the air injectors.
I am not even sure how mine work...Markee...??

I regularly give that advice and when I explain why (as you have done) I get their attention and I do believe it's generally followed.

I close mine when not is use for better heat retention and I wonder if extra aeration will affect my pH too much.

I keep 'em closed when not in use as well.
