i've been searching the hot tub websites and they all proclaim to be the best, but none of them list prices. even a MFSR would help those that aren't sure what what amount of money can get you. so i'll ask your opinion; how much would $6500.00 get me?

$6500 would get you into the medium line of most manufacturers.  Tubs range from around $4500 to close to $10,000.  

Depending on how big your family is and many people will be in it most of the time, $6500 seems to be about the average price spent by many of the people here online.

I have a $4500 Caldera Highland that is 280 gallons and will seat 4 people though it would be tight.  It has limited amount and types of jets but suits me well.  I soak in it 2-3 times a day for 15-20 minutes.  My wife only joins me about once a week.

Also consider the cost (around $700-$1500) of putting in 230V electricity if you want a medium or large tub.

I would assume web sites can't list pricing because prices vary depending on geographic location.

Prices are not even normally posted at a display tub inside a store are they?

Of course options can vary too.

Not real ones    From the time I bought my tub, till the dealer went under 2 years later, they had the same signs in each tub.  On mine it said,  $8795. $SALE -$7145.  I think I paid $6500

$6500 should get you a good tub but again be ready for some electrical work and/or site prep.

I paid around $6500 for my Jacuzzi J-345, price included ozonator, steps, cover lift. I am in one of the more expensive markets here in the SF bay area.

A J-345 is a good tub, 4 therapy seats and a couple you could use for cool down, you could probably squeeze 6-7 folks in it if they didn't mind being close. Not a ton of jets but the jets that are there provide good therapy.

You can get alot of quality tubs at that price. My best advice would be to start visiting the dealers in your area and see what you like. My budget was $6000 and I found all sorts of tubs in that range at the 8 dealers I looked at. Try to find a smaller tub from a major manufacturer. e.i.- Jacuzzi , Sundance, HS, Marquis, Caldera...just to name a few. It will still be of same quality, it just won't be as big and won't have as many bells and whistles. You shouldn't have a problem at that price.

The Coleman 461 falls into that price category.  Generally, hot tub retailing price strategies add about $700 to as much as $1000 to each larger, better tub.  The question you have to ask yourself is for just a little more money could I get something larger and better.  Food for thought......
