I have a '06 J-345. The ozone runs 24/7 w/ the circ pump unless the water reaches 2 degrees more than the set temp. It also shuts off if your tub reaches 105 or higher.

The ozonator does not run when main pumps are running, it will however run when the spa is in a filter cycle, and when the spa is not in use.  When you use your spa and hit a pump btn it shuts off but will come back on approx 5 to 10 minutes after the pump has shut off.

The 470 is a little different, it really doesnt need to run a filter cycle as the circ pump filters approx 50,000 gallons a day.   Pump 1 draws through a suction and pump 2 draws from the suction fitting on the floor (looks like a drain)and filters thru the polishing bag filter.

We had a 470 running at the fair this last year and sometime during the night a few carnnies got in the spa, there was about a pound of sand and dirt in the btm of the spa. well we ran pump 2 off and on within a few hours the sand was gone and had deposited into the polishing bag I was pretty amazed.  It did a really great job of sucking it out.   Try that with a nobypass filter system.  :o

so my ozonator should be running whenever the circ pump is on, and after a time period of 5-10 minutes after the last button was hit?

JJ, I could have sworn I saw bubbles coming out of the ozone port when my pumps were on. I guess I was wrong. I'll keep an eye out tonight during my soak.

Thanks,
Chad

Just because there are bubbles it doesnt mean there is ozone, when the circ pump is running 24/7 it is still drawing air thru the ozonator via the bohls/mazzi injector and squrited out the warm water return jet. Most spas run this way.

I think D1 is one of the only ones approved with a no off gass system that is allowed to have the ozonator run when in use,I could be wrong on that not sure.

My arctic's ozone runs whenever pump #1 is on, which is with all filtration cycles and when in use.
