Chlorine

I tested Chlorine with test strips - that read as TC 3ppm, and FC 1ppm.

Then I tested with my Taylor Test kit -  that read TC 3ppm and FC 3ppm.

How can I deduct 3 from 3?  

What must I add to bring it to a level that I can deduct the TC from the FC?

I added 1/2 TBL of Dichlor to start with.  All other readings are good.

Assuming that you have the Taylor procedure down, trust that over your test strips.  If FC and TC are the same, that just means you don't have any Combined Chlorine yet, which you shouldn't if this is your first dose.  No CC is a good thing!  After a week of use, test again, and if CC is over 0.5, shock.

It is also usually better to test for TC when FC is closer to zero.

TC - FC = CC

3 - 3 = 0

you have zero Combined Chlorine. Just where you want it!
