I used to belong to a buyer's group for stereo gear.

But most of the other dealers went out of business when Best Buy and others began to expand into our areas.

Does that count?

I was under the impression that this is a consumer's web board.

I may be wrong - will not be the first time - but I would think your question would make more sense in an email to the various dealers, or reading about it in Pool and Spa News etc.

My $.02 (5 canadian)

Chas, this question is targeted at the spa dealers which purchase items to supplement their stores revenue. If your response is your opinion of the type of questions and RESPONSES that are PLENTIFUL on this forum deemed "non consumer related", then you best warm up your delete finger and begin deleting EVERY thread and response NOT targeted towards the consumer. I also think I've been here long enough and supplied enough information for some leeway. In other words, show some respect...

I can also bring up more than a few of your posts (and most likely EVERYONE'S here) that have typed something which is not directly providing the consumers here with spa information. Picking mine out of thousands of these type of posts is puzzling and more so, childish and vindictive and I'm not sure what I have done to deserve it...

In future, I would appreciate you respond with any valuable input to my question(s) or pass on it entirely. Thanks.

I certainly didn't mean to get on you about anything -

I made my suggestions based on what I thought would be the best way for you to get answers.

That is all.

Buying groups are good if you are into volume   but most are geared for better benefits on the Pool products  than spa stuff.

If you have quite a bit of competition a buying group will help when it comes to price comparison shopping where u are 5% less than the other guy.

You learn quite a bit about extra things in the industry when your in a buying group.

Product Exclusivity is also a big benefit as well as dealer territory protection

I've have been and currently with the 2 biggest groups in Canada

Your first sentence of "I was under the impression that this is a consumer's web board"  certainly doesn't indicate that. A bit passive agressive maybe? ;)

I posed the question for the many dealer representitives that frequent this forum looking for any sort of feedback and the question still stands. Not all dealers work with buying groups but I was interested to hear and positive or negative of their opinions based on experience. Thanks.
