I agree Anne....

Most people work Monday - Friday

Then on weekends they are free
to shop and run errands.

In todays competitive world.....to be closed
on half the consumer "favorite shopping days"
seems kind of crazy. It's "old school".

But again...2EachHisOwn....

Have no fear....FREE ENTERPRISE.... will solve the problem.

Someone will be there on Sunday for the
consumer if the consumer wants them to be.

I hate stores that have only hours  for the unemployed.  I understand that everyone needs to spend time with family and working every weekend is a pain, but I'd figure stores would have a rotaing schedule where employees work alternating weekends, or maybe just one weekend a month depending on how many folks they have employed.  Cripes, just about every other business does it.

How about my dealer? His hours are listed as Monday through Saturday. Personally I respect him for allowing his employees to be off Sunday for religious, family...whatever. If you as an employee have one day a week that you know you WON'T be working, it makes scheduling life easier. If you attend church, that usually occurs on Sunday and it isn't an option to just show up on Monday...(although Catholic churches do have Saturday masses)...

But and this is where I am really going with this...my dealer leaves Sunday open for his sales people to schedule test soaks, in private. That seems like a good option to me. The sales floor is technically closed but privately opened for the real nitty gritty of buying a tub...the test soak. I like his thinking  ;)
Support your dealer so they can support you!

I would not buy a spa from you, Because this is a leisure item and I will not take a day off work for you to make a profit

I wouldn't buy a spa from me either.  I have big feet, bushy eyebrows, and smell like hot sauce and barbecue most of the time.

And BTW you signing "Terminator" at the end of every post you make is annoying.

I'm fearful I may have just missed a bunch of sales.  I actually closed the store for 45 minutes to go have lunch with my mom and my daughter, who are out Christmas shopping.  Although I left a note saying when I'd return, I'm always afraid I may have missed that $20 chemical sale or even the $10,000 spa sale and the $17 commission that accompanies it.

Even worse, I may have missed the UPS man and all the wonderful goodies he brings!

Hopefully, no one reading this forum came by while I was gone.  If you did and you're reading this, please don't tell my boss I'm closing at 4:30 today to go to a party.

Thanks!

However, if you are selling spas, pools, and chemicals, the business should be open on Sunday’s.  Here is why:  you are going to have walk in traffic for chemicals and when a customer wants a chemical they will just go to the next closest dealer if you are closed.  I know many one store dealers that do well over $500K in pool/spa chemicals alone.  Of which usually about 50% is from weekend sales.  Would you take $125K in revenue off your plate from Sunday sales?  That is just on chemicals.  Assume if you sell 12 extra spas (One a month and a pretty small amount) in the year that is an extra $90K in revenue.  That is all $$$$ that you did not have before.  Looking for extra revenue?  It is as easy as opening on Sunday’s.

Money taken in on Sunday is blood money and is not worth falling into the Ring of Fire.  There was a song warning people about this in the late '60's.
