What are you getting? I found dpreview.com to be very helpful when I was shopping for one.

Thanks for the help but frankly I'm tired of shopping. ;)
I decided on the Cannon 6MP Power Shot A540.
I got some advice from Cola who frequents this forum and is a novice photographer.

Good luck Chad.
I actually have made the next step and will be completing my studio in about a week.  A damn big investment so I hope it pays off.  Nothing life turning something your passionate about into a career.  I might have to mortgage my epic just for the lighting setup alone.  Lets see, Newest camera body, $3000.00, 3 new lenses on order $5200.00,  convert garage into a studio, $1600.00, lighting for studio, $3200.00 (for starters), my nervous twitch and squinty thing came back again - priceless.

Not a bad pick! My brother has that camera, and he loves it. Happy photographing!

It's best to have tried and failed rather than regretting not taking the risk at all.
I'm sure you will succeed in your new career if it "truly" is your passion.

WOW, I had no idea how much that stuff cost! :o :o :o

Convert your spa into a studio so we can get some much needed hot tub pics of the day. ;D ;D ;D

Best of luck,
Chad

Well I was supposed to get my camera today, my girlfriend ordered it online and even paid extra to get it in two days but sure enough it didn't come. :'( :( :'(
I'm sure it'll get in tommorrow. Sorry for the delay.
Just thought I'd update for anyone who was wondering why there was no pics yet.

Thanks Bosco.
It would have been alot better if my camera had arrived.
How'd you know I'm a wine drinker? That's almost as good as me guessing Anne was from California. ;D ;D
