Do you ever take a 30-06 into the hot tub with you? That would be my kind of deer hunting.     An idiot neighbor of mine has decided to put his back porch light on a timer so my view from the hot tub is limited to his damm light.

Looks a lot like the view from our spa.  I've seen multiple deer, a couple of fox, and once a stray cow wandered into our backyard.  We weren't in the spa at the time, though.  Farm was about 1//2 mile away- cow went for quite a stroll.

The 30-06 might be overkill for that porch light but a BB might do the trick.... ;)

As a suburbanite, I envy your location. It looks beautiful! Where do you live if I may ask?

The backyard was full this morning. There was 4 doe's and another buck with one antler. These guy's were about to square off. They walked right in front of the tub cam at about 6:45. Still pretty dark at the time. My neighbor spent 2500 for an atv, 300 for a scope, 1000 for a gun, 150 for cameo, and still can't find a deer to shoot, my backyard views- priceless.

if not, is it illegal to dig a pit, put a bunch of sharp pointy sticks in the bottom and then cover the top with leaves and place a plastic Doe decoy (dressed in a sexy bikini) on top of it as a lure?

I saw a hunting documentary on TV were they did something similliar to this and it worked very well.

Ok. It wasn't really a tv show...maybe it was more like a cartoon.

Ok..it wasn't a Deer either. It was more of a bird.

Ok, it have may  been a road runner and a coyote, if you want to be specific.

Still, it seemed like a very well thoght out plan that should work.

Yep, but I don't like deer meat. I use to hunt but its no fun anymore. Its too easy. I find more of a challenge in fishing. There is another one that is much bigger than this guy. I'll try to get a picture of him but he is much more skiddish. I'd say he is 12 to 16 points. This little fella is 10 points.

Then someone is not cooking it correctly!  :'(  OR, your deer are eating pine needles  :P  not corn and alfalfa like mine are.  8-)

Yes. Anymore you can't go anywhere without a cam on you. I might turn the cam on to the pond dam tomorrow morning if I remember. They like playing on the pond dam around 6:30 am central
