Starting up my Caspian.

I know there's a sequence to follow when you start it up.  Do you push the circ pump breaker first and then the heater??  Is that correct?  Also, you don't add all your chems until the water is up to temperature?

Leave teh heater breaker off until you confirm you have flow through the circ pump.

It is best to let the water warm up a little bit before adding chems but you don't have to wait until it gets to it's final temp.

Turn off both breakers.

Fill the tub up with the hose in the filter well.

Once the tub is full, turn the jets on and run them for a few minutes. This ensrue there are no air locks.

After the jets have been running, turn on the heater breaker and set the display to your desired temp. Figure 5-6 degrees every hour.

If you find the tub is not warming up, it's possible that the heater was tripped. If this is the case, you'll need to open the front access panel and push the heater reset button.

Oh... and this is my pet peeve, the display doesn't show actual temp (until it hits the set temp then the heating icon goes off. )

When filling up, I like to put in a pool thermometer to ensure the temps are  going up and I like to see how fast.

Flow through the main jet pumps has nothing to do with the heater though. You really need only to be sure the circ pump has flow before turning on the heater breaker.

Heater reset now is turning off breaker for about 30 seconds and restarting.  Like rebooting a computer.

My opinion is you can and should start balancing the water as it is heating.
