I fresh filled a couple of days ago. My hardness was about 100 so I bumped it up to about 150 or so. Then my TA was low so I got that up to about 120. After that, my ph was a tad on the high side of course so I adjusted that down with about an oz. of ph down. After everything was at acceptable levels, I added my dichlor and went to bed. The next day (about 24 hrs later) I tested the calcium hardness again and now it is not even registering on the low end of my scale which is about 50 ppm. Is this a fluke? How could it go from 150 to almost nothing? I thought the only way you could get calcium out of the water was to drain part of it and add already softened water. I didn't add any sequestering agent. Anyone heard of this? Thanks!
