Anyway to change the soak timer?
« on: October 06, 2006, 09:33:35 am »
Anyone know if you can change the soak timer on a hot tub?  My Maxxus is set for approximately 20 minutes, and I would like to see about extending that.  I know it "is advised to only soak 15-20 minutes" and that all I really have to do is start another cycle to get another 20 minutes, but it would be nice if the timer was somewhat adjustable.

Anyone know?

Thanks,
JR

If your Maxxus is like my Optima, the pumps run for 20 minutes then shut off.
This isn't adjustable from the control panel, at least not from a user standpoint.

Not sure if a tech, or someone with inside knowledge can go in and change that or not.

I just use that 20 minute "timeout" to switch seats or grab another bevearage, etc.

Brewman,

I usually load the beverage tray with 3 or 4 frosty cold ones before I get in and can typically go to the 2nd 20 minute mark before I need to get rid of any.

It's really not that big of a deal, just thought it would be nice if the timer was user adjustable.

Thanks,
Jr

What's a soak timer? Can't you just hit the jet buttons when you go in and then turn them off the jets when you're done? Is it like a sleep timer for a TV?

On SunDance tubs there is an internal timer that will shut the jets off approximately 20 minutes after you start them.

My tub works the same way. Must be a function of the controller which is used by several manufacturers, and not a specific Sundance issue.

I don't have a timer on my tub.  But I usually know when my hour is up.  Gee, I surely hate to get out, even after an hour of soaking.  I just love it, especially in this cooler weather.

How long do you other tubbers stay in?  That would be interesting to know.

I usually soak for 20 minutes every morning and then my wife and I soak anywhere from 20-60 minutes every evening.

HotTubber,
You would probably generate alot more responses if you would post that question as the header to a new message.

Just wondering what the soaking time is for others on this Forum.  I usually soak for 1 Hr. daily, sometimes longer.  I have arthritis, and this helps some, but is this too much?

Check with your doctor if you're under the care of one.
