Sundance Owners with Microclean I
« on: September 19, 2006, 04:54:37 pm »
I was wondering how you feel the filtration is in your tub.  The reason I'm asking, is they now put the Microclean I into the 780 series tubs.  They look quite awesome, and the idea makes sense, however, how's it working in a real situation with kids, grass, etc.

(btw, I'm considering a 780 series tub)

Thanks,

Mark

Hi there.  :)

To answer your question, the large filter takes care of grass and large stuff as you mentioned, and the small filter takes care of the really tiny oils and such. Two different filters hooked to two different pumps, as you know. I love the micro clean 1. I think it's a great design and works really well on my tub.

Good luck!

I have this in my 2003 Optima, and I'm fine with it.  You do have to replace the microfilter a few times per year, and they cost around $15 each.  Not a really big deal in my opinion.  The microfilter isn't cleanable or re-usable.
Water certainly stays clean, so filtering system must be effective.  I believe that a single pleated standard filter can be substituted for the micro/pleated combo for those who don't want the microfilter replacement to deal with.

If it works like mine does, you should be satisfied with the filtering quality.

It works but it is complete waste of money. It is nothing more than a sales and marketing scheme. You can keep a 500 gallon spa clean with a plain ole 25SQFT pleated filter.

You can keep a tub clean with a pleated filter, just not as clean!
