How to protect a new Spa Cover

Just got a new Sunstar cover for my 8' Cal Spa. Third cover in 13 years. Since the spa sits outside under trees and 2/4-legged nature (birds and squirrels), is there anything I can treat the cover with - now- to stave off all the damage from sun, trees and animals?

Try CoverStore.com. They have wonderful products that may not eliminate squirrels and birds, but the covers will help with the elements. Also try Aerospace 303 Spray (Amazon.com) it works great!!

303 protectant.

If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.
Retired (mostly) from the industry after 33 years...but still putzing around with a consumer information website, and trying to sell obsolete owners manuals

Thank you for the suggestions. Can't afford to keep replacing covers all the time. These will help.

Another good investment to protect the cover is a floating thermal blanket.
My experience has been they pretty much stop the inside aging process in it's tracks.

Mine's in a protective gazebo so it's not exposed to the elements as much. Some will say, but I like looking up at the stars. I say to that, I do too, but star gazing comes at a cost.
I still use 303 on the cover. Good stuff!
