Hot Tub Pic O' the Day 8-10-06
« on: August 10, 2006, 10:05:40 am »

A recent event we had over in Shreveport, LA.  From left is Tara, Tammy, and Teencie Jr.

Sorry about the picture quality.  Crank, the manager of our Shreveport store, needs to keep both hands on the camera.

We need more off-site events.  =(

On another note, is that an '06 Sorrento in Sea Mist Opal???

It looks like the new control pad, but I can't see it very well.

I believe it was an '05.  I think we gave it away during a promotion.

Speaking of which, ya'll be sure to watch ESPN Monday Night Football on August 21.  The Cowboys will be playing the Saints in Shreveport, LA, in a preaseason game.  We are going to have a big tent with 7 or 8 spas set up in the parking lot of Independence Stadium.  One of my customers has a trailered barbecue pit that he's going to bring and we'll have a giant tailgate party all day Monday.  We'll have several hydrotherapy technicians there and I'll be sure to photodocument all the action.

If anybody is in the area and wants to come, just let me know. :)

Term when you do a remote event do you use generators for power?

Most of our offsites have electric service (Alleyfest, Balloon Race, County Fair, boat and home show).  When we do something like this, we'll have to rent some generators.

The official version:  They have specialized training in interpolating the nuances of water flow, jet pressure, and air induction and the ability to relate these perceptions to the end users.

The truth:  They look good in bikinis.

So some dealers need to use banners like "Factory Direct" and some need beautiful women in bikinis to lure customers in?

Not true, they're there to lure in the customer's husbands.

Would you prefer if they wore parkas while in the hot tub?

I prefer to use banners along these lines:

I tend to look at it more from this perspective:

At the fair last year, one of my customers showed up with her 1920's style bathing suit.  She weighs about 240 lbs, is proud of the fact that people tell her "you don't look like you weigh over 220 lbs", and she has personally sent 3 people in to buy spas from me over the last couple of years.  She is a sweet person but Robert Goddard, she ain't.  She wanted to sit in the spa and "help me sell some jacuzzis".  So I said sure.

What I noticed is that people would flock to the spa to ask her "How does it feel?  What are the jets like?  Oooooo, I wish I had one."  She told them how great the "Motormassage" felt going up and down her back, how the foot and leg jets "made her veins quit throbbin'", etc.  She was simply someone who was much more approachable than me, the nasty ol' salesman.

So, I thought, if a 240 lb spokesmodel gets people interested in owning a spa, how about an articulate, well proportioned and groomed spokesmodel?  It has worked out great for everyone involved with no deceptive promises of "saving thousands of dollars by eliminating the middleman."  Everyone wins, including me, the middleman. :)
