New Ohio record
« on: August 06, 2006, 06:29:26 pm »
Did a dump/clean/refill today.  When all was done, I turned on power and the initial temp was 75. A new high, beating last August by 3 degrees.

While I think most of you would feel comfortable getting in my tub, I was amazed during the cleaning. I pulled out the neck jets (4), they are above the water line. Behind them was dark lousy mold.  Yuk!  All is well now, and we will probably take a soak when it hits 90.    All this hot weather has had some benefit.

This has been the hottest summer since we bought our tub and it was still in the 80s and humid last night at our usual soak time.  We actually soaked at 88, a new record low for me.

Great minds think alike.
I also did a dump/clean/refill yesterday. And, like you, the water was 75°. Usually, it's down in the 50s range.
I forced water down the jets and found that the water coming out was a little on the murky side. Kept doing that until it ran clear. I know that helped. I didn't think to actually pull out the jets and look inside.  :P
Oh well, I'll add that to my list of todo's for the next refill.

Not a mountain lake? Then it's still a chemical soup!

This is a once a year thing for me.  A few of the jets had a litle sediment behind them, but the above the water line ones were nasty. [smiley=tongue.gif]

My last fill, I hooked up all of my hoses together, started to fill in the am before work, slow fill and let the sun heat the hose.  It was half full and warm when I got home.  I quick filled the rest and got 89 deg at finish 8-)
