Great day in the mornin', do I ever!!!

I did a fantabulous man on the street report from there last year!  Oh what fun.

If you're going to be there, I will buy you a fried Twinkie.

Sounds like fun. Where in the big state of Texas is the fair located. Does it beat our Del Mar fair now called the San Diego County Fair?

I suppose the Ohio State Fair is out of your territory?  Yesterday was opening day and we stopped in for a few hours.  Saw the new Master Dealer, The local COAST dealer, MAAX, and some other dealer who looked like he was still setting up.  Oh, yea, Royal was also there with their swim spa up front.

The State Fair of Texas is the biggest state fair of all.  It is located in Dallas at Fair Park.  The Cotton Bowl sits in the middle of the fairgrounds.  There are several museums, an aquarium, and a planetarium as well as a concert hall that operate year round.  Big Tex, the 52 foot tall cowboy, welcomes visitors:

It runs about 3 weeks, is the birthplace of Fletcher's corny dogs and the fantabulous fried Twinkie, and I love everything about it.  I will see you guys there!

Most any State Fair beats Del Mar. For the fact that these things are supposed to be agricultural events the Del Mar fair is just a big swap meet, like the one down at the sports arena. Granted, it's a helluva location! They used to put us up at a hotel in LaJolla at the cove! That made for a 45 minute commute going through the 5/405(?) merge what a nightmare! I did hear they are doing somethings a little different though. A couple of years back spa dealers had to put in seald bids for booth space, is that still going on? And I guess they are shutting it down on Mondays and Tuesdays. That's what I hear anyhow.

The LA county fair is huge...It also incorporates agriculture, livestock, horse racing and lots and lots rides and entertainment as well as a swap meet of things you probably think you must have until you get home and realize what was I thinking.... ;)

Yeah, I've worked the Del Mar fair, The Orange Co. Fair and the L.A. County fair. They put us up at the Fairplex Hilton for that one, another nice place!

Including set-up and tear-down, I spent over 30 days at the Texas State Fair in 2001 and again in 2002.  What a beating!  I went back for a visit in 2003, on day 21 to see if all the other spa dealers were having a miserable time.  Most said it was terrible.  A few lied and said they were having a "decent fair".
You couldn't drag me back to the Texas State Fair.
