My Customer's New Deck Plans
« on: July 28, 2006, 06:24:24 pm »
One of my customers just stopped by to show me his plans for his deck.  It will be made out of Trex decking and we are going to recess the spa (HotSpring Grandee) about 20".  When it's finished, I'll get some pics.

I wish my deck looked like his. :'(

I think you should offer to send over some of your "hired help" to pose in the spa for the pictures.

Term, this is beautiful and the Trex product is great but I am just wondering why they would go with a deck opposed to hardscaping? Is that a Texas thing?
I have a deck, but it is because my yard is so hilly, I would rather have hardscaping any day.
Also, is the pool inground? There are steps to the deck around the pool. I can't wait to see the finished product.

The only thing I don't like is no clear access from the house to the yard avoiding the deck. And I hope there is no grass in those holes between the sections. But I guess if you can afford that set up the hired help can figure out how to mow! And where do you shovel all the snow to?

He has a prominent slope to his backyard and chose to go with an above ground pool.  The less yard you have, the less fire ants you have, I reckon.

That is then, probably the best integration of an above ground pool that I have ever seen. I can't wait to see the finished product. I guess the fire ants are the reason that you wouldn't want the hardscaping. But Can't you invest in a few aardvarks?

Looks GREAT!

You might point out to them that the shade structures will look too "square" on the ends and "boxy" because of all the straight lines and no cantilever. Try cantilevering out by about 2 FT and doing some detail work on the overhanging beam ends like an ogee cut, nothing fancy just something to break the straight line...
