Brilliance brand of bromine, which I was using, is in the form of small chunks- looks a lot like crushed chalk.
Their floater had a plastic screen that wrapped around the outside of the floater, yet allowed water to flow thru the exposed bromine.
Perhaps you could use that type of floater? I think they cost about $10.
Don't see why it wouldn't work with tablet bromine.
