HS Sovereign??
« on: June 28, 2006, 11:50:55 pm »
Hi....new here....I just found this site and I've already looked back about 30 pages....there's some great info here.
We went to a HS dealer this past weekend and were given a price of $8600 (tax included) for a HS Sovereign.  We live in Northern NJ.  I've noticed that the people who live in the South tend to have better prices.   Is this a decent price?  Also, please let me know your thoughts on the Sovereign.  It seems like a lot of people on this forum talk about the Envoy, Grandee and Vanguard.  Not too much talk about the Sovereign so I'm looking for some input.  Thanks!

I'm a dealer.

The Sov used to be the best-selling tub on this (or presumably any other) planet.

The Envoy and Vangaurd seem to be unseating the leader.

I like the Sov because it's a mix of lounger and open seating.

You can order it convertable 110/220 volt or the 220 volt model which packs a bigger pump.

Are you shopping at Prisco?  I found their prices to be a little high.  See if they can knock $500 or so off the price.  Sovereign seemed to be a good tub but we were looking at the more expensive Calderas and HS.

Yes....Prisco is where I got the quote from.  Do you know of any others in the area?  The website only allows me to pull up the closest one to my house.

They are the closest by far and with two locations in NNJ they have the market cornered!  >:(

I would simply try to negotiate.  Or if you are in NE Jersey try a zip code in NY State (Newburgh, NY area).  If you are in NW Jersey like me try a zip code in NE PA (Milford, PA area).  That will give you a couple more dealers.  BOL and tell us how it goes.

IMHO the price seems high.

Good luck.

I'm not a dealer,  but I have to say, personally I think $8600 seems a bit high to me for a 350 gallon-6 person, (looks more like 5 to me, or in reality  I'd say 4 adults)   1 pump (not counting circ)  tub.

Don't get me wrong. HS is recognized as a top of the line brand, but  folks here have reported getting the Grandee for that price.

Is that price after tax?

I hope it includes delivery, steps cover  a cover lifter . (o3 is standard).

Perhaps I am completely wrong, but I'd shop around. I think you could do better.  What were they asking for the Vanguard or Envoy?  Have you shopped other tub brands?

It doesn't hurt to look around and see what all your options are before droping some serious change.

Yes, that would be the one with the larger pump.

I will add this thought: now that I have experienced the Moto DX - the dual Moto Massage jet - I would not want to go back to a single. This is very subjective, of course. Some would say that a single Moto is better than more conventional jets, while others would say that they are very happy with a group of small jets or a couple of spinner jets.

I know this - I have many hundreds of them out there, and they sure do the job.

oh yea...

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11112486&whse=&topnav=&browse=&bp=category&eCat=BC%7C111%7C4639&img=2

Smaller filter. Less Jets, smaller pump, no ozone  and would need the electrical upgrade.

The Costco unit includes cover, lifter and steps.
