Foam......why is it bad?

Just curious....I hear everyone talking about getting rid of foam.  What are the dangers of having foam and not getting rid of it?

I am not sure of the dangers....but I know I much more enjoy crystal clear water  when I am soaking....

Foam creates air pockets that can cause surging and can be hard on the pumps.

like mendo said,  I personaly don't like it.  I don't care for sudsy foam on me when I'm soaking.

Also, foam is an indication that the water isn't clean and/or balanced.  

It's my understanding that some foam can be caused by oils, once again indicating the water isn't clean.

I thought the RABBIT was supposed to die?   Ohhhh, I'm so confused!

Okay...my thoughts are simple (if they're not, they tend to confuse me and bleach my hair blonde)....if there's foam, there's too much "stuff" (hair stuff, skin stuff, soapy stuff, etc) in the water, which will leave ring around the tub, a ring around my shoulders/neck, and gunk up the filters. I'd rather get rid of it as preventive maintenance, instead of leaving it go, and have "goo" issues later on.
Speaking of which, I need to CLEAN my filters...*sigh*
