Tiger River Caspain filter question
« on: May 23, 2006, 11:09:35 am »
Hey guys

i'm at home and switched out the filter on my 05 Caspain. while putting the clean filter in, I noticed it wasn't seating correctly.  Putting my hand down into the filter well, I found a roundish flat plastic disk.

It's about 2" across, the center has about a 1" hole, it's got 4 slotted pins sticking out of it.

anyone know what it is and where it goes? It wasn't apparent to me where it came from

???

That is the retainer for one of your large jets. Look around: you'll spot one of your jets with the retainer gone. The nozzle generally stays in place by design.

Also, to add to Chas's post, you're still under warranty.  If the jet pops out again,  just bring the defective jet to your dealer next time you're in to buy chems, and they will replace it with the new style.

Yes it just snaps in. It is supposed to hold in the directional nozzle of the one of the jets. If you can't find which jet, do this:

Turn on all jets. Go around a gently poke your finger into the large jets which do not have a rotary nozzle. Skip the small jets. You'll know you found the right jet because the direction nozzle will pop out onto your finger when you disturb the water flow.

What's the new style for the Tiger rivers? I do have a problem with the nozzles on the foot dome.  2 popped out. 1 doesn't like staying in.  Since it's a foot dome jet, I don't care/worry about it.

Also. i upgraded my light bulb, didn' I void the warrenty?  ;)

New style for the directional and rotary jets no longer have the four prongs for attachment.  They are more of a one piece item that screws in.  As far as the dome jets, next time you drain, just silicone the small directional jets that have a tendency to pop off.  Do you have a 1st quarter 2004 caspian??
