water lines have some build up.
« on: May 17, 2006, 11:54:39 am »
Hi all,

I opened up the cabinet to my hot tub the other day and saw that all of the clear plumbing has some type of build up in it. it looks like it might be a white film. Any ideas on what it might be and what i can do about it?

thanks

Could be scale.  Could be biofilm.

You can use a product such as Swirl Away or spa Purge, which are "pipe cleaners".

You could ignore.  Most people do.

When useing either one of those products i take it you have to drain the tub? Will it hurt the pipes if i just leave it be?

The clear hose always looks great when new until it gets a film and gets that "milky" look. You could try to get it off but A) it'll come back, B) you may know it's there but no one will see it.

Ignore it, close the panel and enjoy the spa and just worry about routine water maintenance.
