Chas is in hot water again
« on: May 03, 2006, 08:23:46 pm »
I finally got a spa in my back yard!!

It's about a 1998 Grandee. That would be a HotSpring product, BTW.

It is heating up as I type. I just pulled the Tri-X filters out of the dishwasher, and we are putting one new, regular filter on the Circ Pump - that is coming home with my Son. I would have put all new filters in it, but they had just bought the Tri-X a couple months ago, and we know them...

My electrician bought it from us a while back, and just got to the point where they didn't use it anymore. Can you even imagine that?

Better than last year by far, however you most likely did notice that I am installing a USED tub in my backyard....

Well at least you have one. I sold mine until I get my new house done. I thought I'd be finished by now but no such luck.

Ok, I'll bite.  Chas, if you are a Hot Springs Dealer why would you be putting an old spa in your backyard instead of a much newer unit?

Ok, I'll bite.  Chas, if you are a Hot Springs Dealer why would you be putting an old spa in your backyard instead of a much newer unit?

Several reasons:
1.I want a tub, and this one is here NOW.
2.I want to run this particular spa for a few months before selling it. The electrician said he thought something was wrong with it, but nothing is -- except dirty filters. I want to prove to him that nothing was/is wrong in case he changes his mind and wants it back. The filters were filty! I put one new one in: couldn't clean a five-month-old Tri-X!
3.It was free. Unless you count the delivery crew and the one temp guy as extra help to get it out from under the patio cover at my electrician's place and move it into my yard and hook it up. I have electrical: we usually have a large HS tub.
4.It works great! They had upgraded to Tri-X, and except for a couple of scratches my delivery guys put on the bar top back when they delivered into their yard years ago, the inside looks like new. The outside is a little faded.
It has a cover lift, but the cover looks a little sad - I'll soon remedy that.
5.I like the simpler tubs just fine: though last night as we were soaking in it my daughter said she misses the Spaudio...

Um, you own 2 stores and dealerships and didn't have a tub at your house?

I can see that maybe a salesman might not have one, but your the captian of a growing empire,  ;)     Why didn't you have a tub at home? Where they all on your yacht , or in your winter homes?  Please tell me you have a hot tub at your Tuscanny Villa, at least.

I will be - I think I have a bit of water mold, :o so I am blasting it with Dichlor for a day or two. Then I'll start up on Brilliance. I like the stuff.

Chas, can you explain why you like Brilliance better than dichlor? I always thought you were a dichlor man.  :)
