Longevity of Bromine, anyone?
« on: April 19, 2006, 08:09:56 am »
OK, here's a question for the minority of the group here. All you Dichlor-Only, "No Chemical Soup in My Spa!" experts can just lurk for awhile! ;D

Leslie's Pool Supply has a special on Brominating Tablets right now. I see the bucket only mentions pools.

1. Is pool bromine the same as spa bromine?
2. How large are these tablets? On another page, it states  the small tablets are 1" in diameter. How much larger are these? Can they fit in my inline frog (;D reusable ;)) cartridge?
3. Is there a shelf life on bromine tablets? I'd like to know before I invest in that 25# bucket.
4. Are there differences between brands of bromine tablets or are they all pretty much the same?

Thanks,

Phil
Not a mountain lake? Then it's still a chemical soup!

Recovering Bromine users checking in:  :)

pool bromine is the same as spa bromine.

I've only seen the bromine tabs in the 1" pucks.

I'm not sure on the shelf life...how much do you wish to buy. how long would that last you? ALso I can't comment on the differnt brands. Sorry...'
