Good question, I'm going to ask my agent soon. I just paid off my mortgage and will be shopping for a new home owners policy. I'll see what they have to say.

I talked to my agent and he didn't seem overly concerned about it. Of course I have a six foot fence around my back yard to. I think it will depend on how much Insurance you already have as well as how secure the area is around the spa.

Ironically, this morning I emailed my insurance agent to tell him I had jut gotten a spa and find out if he needed me to do anything with my policy. I'll let you know what he says!

Mine agent wasn't concerned.  The spa is covered for damage caused be fire, weather, vandalism, etc......
With the liability protection on my homeowners policy plus my umbrella, I'm as protected as practical against any accidents that may happen.

My insurance agent said enjoy the water and dont worry about it. I did assure him that the tub has the appropriate, legally required cover, and that was all he cared about.

From the insured perspective, is your Hot Tub insured under your policy as "personal property" OR "as part of the structure"? ???

Each of these catogories is treated differently and provides different types of coverages.

My agent wasn't concerned and stated my policy did not need to be modified.  I was surprised because they always look for a reason to raise the rates.

I put mine on my insurance, the premiums did not go up and it is written in the policy as part of the structure and the purchase price taxes included.  If it gets damaged by anything other than deliberate it is covered.
