Looked at both, liked both originally, didn't like the Coleman dealer and Emerald changed something in early 2005 that I didn't like.

They were both pretty good values in 2004 IMO. Either way I think you'll be happy!

Coleman makes a nice quiet tub. My wife and I had our heart set on a 470 from the Performance series. It had the seating arrangement we wanted and the price was around 6k. When we dry tested one of the Comfort Collar seats, her shoulders and neck touched the bottom of the collar. She was a bit too tall for the seat. Disappointing.

you would have to wet test to decide which is a better therapeutic spa.  what models are you looking at for each brand and have you gotten any prices? you want to make sure the models are somewhat comparable to determine what might be the best value?  My personal humble opinion would be the coleman, but again you need to wet test both spas you are interested in, compare and contrast their pluses and minuses and see what is best for you.

Yeah in the 470 the seat on the left with the compfort collar has a little less depth hence harder to fit in when dry.  The fact is when wet tested you will notice because of boyancy it would be alot easier to fit in.  In terms of quality Coleman by far.

The bouyancy statment doesn't make sense to me, but I guess a quick wet test would tell.

As far as your last statement, upon what are you basing your opinion? Warranty? Componant brands? What?

I'm with Chas. Based on what? IMHO it's a wash with these two, so wet test and go from there.

I’m out if it turns into the circus that poolsearch.com has become.

Fortunately we have a moderator here so I'm sure he won't be able to hijack so many threads as he has there.

My wife and I wet tested both spas (and some others) and for us, we liked the dealer and felt Emerald was more comfortable and offered more features for the price we paid.  In fact, we just took delivery on our new Emerald spa and got it hooked up over the weekend.  Wow...the spa is great and it has more jet action than what I remembered during the wet test.  Anyways..good luck!

I would take the Emerald over the Coleman also but only if the fit was right. They are both real close in quality IMO.

How do each of the dealers rate with your gut instinct.
After narrowing  your as you have, go with the dealer you're most comfy with.
My 2 cents.
