Ok, Chas ( 8-)) gets to be the exception. I cannot offer a prayer, but I can offer a supporting thought, how's that?

Anne,

Your supporting thought will be appreciated and received gladly.

Thanks to you, and to the many others who offer what they have.

This is a community, a good one.

I think Chas might and should be an exception to some of the rules. 8-)
I sure hope not - my response to Steve was meant as humor. He and I have a relationship which allows for that, even encourages that. Do I speak for you on that one Tundra Walker?

I do my best to abide by the rules here completely.

I realize I chose the title of my post poorly. Sorry - I should have called it something like:
proud father wants to brag up his daughter. Or:
Finally a teenager who isn't focused on herself. Or:
After years of hard work, she's showing initiative. Or even:
Look what she's doing to make us worry this time!

Ooh! The best one would have been:

"After thousands of soaks in the family hot tub, a teenager can do things to make a parent proud. "

By naming what I did, I put the focus on the request part, not on the 'news' part. Sorry.

Anyway, I got a bunch of notes, a few emails, and one phone call. Most were very supportive, and I thank you. Some questioned the relevancy- I still thank you. It means I matter enough to you that you took the time, and that is quite an honor.

If you have thoughts, I am open to hear them, if you have time, post here. If you wish, you can certainly PM me. If you have strong feelings, feel free to express them. You are not likely to offend me - I promise.

And I hope I have not offended you.

I'm just uncomfortable on a public forum being asked to pray.??  Hello Anne :) Please explain to me if you might what exactly would make you uncomfortable. If you are not a praying person just say so or dont say so. Please dont feel uncomfortable. I love you either way ;) :)

Hmmmm, Public forum alright. But this forum is not paid for by the public, or the government. Chas has as much right to broadly ask because this is a public forum.  ::)

You are right! Here's to living on America. And Mr Ziggs, I dont see what requires much explanation.........No, I'm not a praying person, and religion in general makes me uncomfortable. I think it best that I not explain that in detail, as I dont want to offend others' beliefs.  Suffice it to say that one does not need a god to believe in goodness.

Actually its not a public forum, its a private one, for which you all made agreements to join.  At this point, that is subject to the whims of the moderator, or the owners if they decide to overrule me.  Two things I never discuss with friends is religon or politics.
