Around the first of the year last year GE started buying their windings overseas. These windings contained less copper and caused the motor to overheat and in some cases burn out the low speed side of the motor.

Marquis, Maax and several other companies wound up with some of these pumps.

If your having intermitant problems with low speed have your dealer replace the pump. Marquis will replace it without question.

If you have these pumps you will know in the first year of ownership.

This summer my 2003 Reward lost both pumps at the same time.  The curcuitr board was fine just the pumps.  The tech said in all the years he has serviced Marquis he had never had to replace the smaller pump let alone both.

Interesting, Stuart.  All I want at this point is just to have them replaced.  Where are the pumps located and does it involve tearing out foam?  I'm going to freak if they have to do that.

I am SOOOO GLAD to see that picture!  Thanks Bonibelle!!  Hubby put screen over the opening where the light is on the outside panel but I don't think he did the bottom.  He'll be doing that tonight!  LOL!

Now that is a nice, clean looking set of spa innards.  What is the little white box that says UP?

It tells you which way to set the spa before you fill it.

That's what I figured.  That way the water won't run out.

Are you looking in that rear view mirror? ;D

Do yourself and your tech a favor.  Let him replace the pumps.  Do not bend his ear.  When you take your car to the dealership for repair, you talk with a trained custermer service person.  Your car then goes into the shop where you can't go and the trained mechanic (who might not have people skills) does the mechanical work.

I have found that most service techs (board members here excluded) do not have great communication skills.
If you have concerns about your spa, about the pumps and how soon they needed to be replaced, you should be communicating with Marquis.  Your service tech's job is to fix the darn thing.

That may be with some techs but this tech could actually communicate with words.  He sounds quite intelligent to me and able to converse...and willing to do so.  I'll go easy on him.
