how long to heat?

I realize this will vary with types of heaters, water volume, etc, but about how long will it take a tub to heat up again after a drain and refill? Any general degrees per hour per volume guidelines out there? I will have an Arctic Summit, water volume of 390 gal. Obviously I dont have it yet, or I guess I could answer my own question.

110 volt = around 3 degrees per hour.
220 volt = around 10 derees per hour.
Generally, a 110 tub will heat from tap water in about 14 -18 hours, a 220 in 4-6 hours.
Longer if you're in a hurry, of course.

My tub is 220V and heats 4 degrees per hour, not 10. Others with similar tubs have indicated this is their heat rate also. Tub size is likely to affect rate also...IMO

Hi Anne
Just refilled my Arctic Summit this week. Lets see - I worked it out to about 7-8 degrees/hour.
Up north here the water out of the tap was 46 degrees so to get up to 103 - about 71/2 hrs for us.
Starting temp is key but I would think that the rate of 7/hr should give you a ball-park.
Enjoy the tub!

anne, I have the tundra which has a little more water than the sumit. I filled today, and the tap water was 42 degrees. Two hours later it was 65 degrees. So I would say that Chas is bang on for my tub. 10 degrees an hour.
I also find that if I run the pumps and close the lid, it heats up quicker.
I am about to go in it right now and it is sitting at 104. so nice fresh new water is great.

Thanks, everyone. I'm already anticipating the "down time" before I get my first hot water, and the delay after my inevitable first monthly refill! And I dont even have the tub yet!!!!!
Sore from shoveling gravel, though :-/

You've got a heck of a lot more water to heat. Thats why you only get four degrees per hour.
