Here are the pics of my spa install, a Jacuzzi J-345.

I wanted to sink the spa down a little, so I spent a couple of weekends digging. Here's the framed pad area.

Next came the concrete, about 40 bags. I used half high strength and half regular concrete, plus wire mesh. Only took about 4-5 hours to mix and pour the concrete.

Finally the spa arrived and I started the deck around. Here is a picture of the french drain I put in to keep any water from building up in the depression.

I had originally planned to use exterior plywood as a base for the deck. So here is a picture of the plywood base construction in progress.

The rains started so I wasn't able to finish the deck right away. Here's a night picture of the spa with deck still in progress.

Finally had a couple of free weekends with no rain so here's the finished product. I decided to trash the plywood deck base and just use Trex decking for the deck.

Hope this helps someone planning their own project.

I already have some ideas about how I would like to have my spa look but unless someone talented enough like you comes along and volunteers to do the work they will remain just that, ideas.

Any contact with manual labor I have had in my life has been purely by mistake...

Yep, you did a good job. The curves give the deck character. Which blends well with the curves in the walk.

Looks great Day and Night ! Wonderful job.

Note to others considering this type of setup:

The drainage is critically important. SV has done a great job of allowing a way for the water to leave the low spot around the tub.

My experience is that very little rainwater gets into the hole, but the first time you leave the hose running and go off for three or four hours, you want to be sure all the water can be safely carried away from the low spot or you will be buying pumps.

LOVE the deck and the flagstone. Is that Three Rivers rock? It looks just like what I did my front walkway with, and I'm thinking about using it around the tub. Kinda pricey as flagstone goes, but soooooo pretty. Do you have any concerns about it being slippery when wet? That is not a problem for me in the front, but wondering if it would be an issue around a tub.

Was interested in the method of electrical to your spa. I am in the pre-install mode and do not want any electrical wire running to my tub that I might see or trip on. I did not notice the cable on your install. How was it done. TIA..

Anne, that is three rivers rock. I haven't had any issues with it being slippery. But I don't have little kids running around either so that might be a consideration if you did.
