Here's a warning:  don't go in the hot tub too soon after giving blood.

I gave blood just before 3 today and went into the hot tub shortly after 5.  After I came out (20 minutes) I darn near fainted.  I had to lay down for a few minutes.

I hope I'm o.k. for the 8:30 soak!

Astrid.

Ya know how when you donate they say "no strenuous exercise, no flying planes, no hot tubs and drink lots of fluids for the next 24 hrs?." They mean it. ;)

They have never mentioned hot tubs whenever I gave blood.

I didn't go in at 8:30.

You should have had a beer before going in, that would have helped.

JUST KIDDING, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

That was the name  of the game when I was in college!  You could literally get drunk for half price!  Wonderful for a poor college student

Sorry if I sounded snippy- didn't mean to, but every time I donate (and its almost 4 gallons now) I hear the exercise/hot tubs/flying warning, and I guess I assumed that was universal. I always think to myself, "I WISH avoiding a hot tub for 24 hrs was an issue for me!!" Now soon it will be.

The good news is, this afternoon your 24 hrs is up! Even the nurses could not object to you tubbin' by then!  :D
