So I was enjoying myself in the tub when I realized my can of Coke was gone. J looked over the edge and saw a can of Coke so we didn't think much of it. When we were done and shut off the jets getting out... we noticed the can of Coke floating in the tub. I remember a post here a while back about beer in the tub, but don't know about Coke. Is this a problem or will it be okay?

My water is/was only 18 days old and beautiful.

Dont worry about it, give it a nice heavy shock and you should be fine.

Soda pop is mostly water anyway, and the rest is a few tablespoons of sugar, and some food coloring, and trace amounts of chemicals that I can't pronoucne.
In several hundred gallons of water, you have nothing to worry about.

if it can eat through rust, then who knows, maybe it'll help you keep your jets and lines all clear of 'gunk'.

I'd agree though...can of coke = what, 12 oz? hot tub = 300-400 gallons? majorly diluted......shock it, check your level as usual, you should be fine....

Having never experienced this, my first thought was change the water. But MPS is supposed to break down Organic matter so I would use a heavy dose of that and rinse the filters a couple of days in a row.

I had shocked with MPS about 4 hours earlier... should I shock again with MPS or should I shock with dichlor this morning?

As for the Coke situation, the Dischlor would just sanitize it, but the MPS should break it down so it can be filtered out. I'd probably hit the MPS again and rinse filters tomorrow. How does it look? Nice new avatar by the way.
