Moving Beachcomber tub in the winter
« on: February 05, 2006, 11:59:13 pm »
Hi fellow hottub people!

Any of you have experience moving your tubs over the winter?

We will be moving our Beachcomber 550X tub in the next couple of weeks to a new house.

What is the best way to ensure that there is no freezing in the waterlines, while it is not operational.

Will draining it and bringing the pump inside be sufficient?

Should I take a compressor andf blow out the lines?

Any help on recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tyler ???

Hey Ty, long time no hear.

My suggestion is to drain it, take a wet/dry shop vac and blow out the lines from the disconnected unions at the pak. You can also suck or blow the water from each jet to be sure there's no full lines that can freeze and expand. Not every drop needs to be removed as our main concern in winter is that there's no full lines.

Bringing the pak inside is an option though following the same procedure should be just fine.

Steve,

Thanks for the suggestions ;)

You are so good at what you do, they should make a television series about you,... "The Beachcombers," oh yeah, thats been done!

Hope things are good with you, all the best! :) :)

You open up those pump unions and stand it on it's side with them open and almost all the water will come right out also.
