Out of Control Control Panel

Calling all spa tech types.......

I was wondering if I could you guys to weigh in on my new issue?  Tonight I discoverd my 5 month new spa's control pannel started acting possessed.  Basically it's cycling through all the various settings.  1st is goes through the 4 filtration cycles, then it will say flash "fil" then "Circ", the switch to "economy" then back to regular time and temp.  Pump controls, bubbles, and Lights controls still work.

Any ideas on the cause?  Service Bulletins?  Should I reboot?

 If rebooting doesn't work, and you don't get any other viable solution here, try posting your issue on Doc's board.  There are several tech's who regularly post there, and offer pretty good advice for self diagnostics on this type of thing.

You can try rebooting but that probably won't fix anything and if it does you have to wonder if it's just temporary. It sounds like you have an issue with either your main control or the auxilliary control (assuming you have one). If you're worried about how long it takes to get the service out there you could try disconnecting the auxilliary control to see if that goes away. If it does, leave it like that until they arrive (you don't need the aux control and it's an easy swap out). If it is at the main control then you'll need to get service out there so monitor it daily to make sure you're staying at temp.

It sounds like a main control panel problem.  I am guessing it is a sundance.  The auxillary control only controls the motors (pre aquaterrace waterfall) or the aquaterrace lights.

Yes, it's my 2005 Optima.  It has the aux control pannel, which is working perfectly, it controls lights only.

I've contacted dealer via email last night, and phone today.  So far I've not had any response.

Tonight the "cycling" through issue has stopped. Looks like pannel is working normally in that I can view time and temp, and adjust the temp, but cannot confirm or adjust the filtration cycles with either the select or cycle buttons because they now appear dead.

Sounds like you did all you could by re-booting.  If you're still having issues, it should be covered under your warranty, so I wouldn't mess around with it too much more.  Hopefully you can get the service people out there.  Let us know what the outcome is.

Just wanted share with you my results.

I emailed them on Tuesday, called them on Wednesday, they said they were on it, called them again on Thursday........no record of my call or email?

I asked them to call my cell phone to set up a service call. They called on wife's number on  Friday, said they'd be out between 10 and 1 Saturday.

I took the kid to the T-Wolves camp until 10 and when I got home they'd already been out and replace the control pannel.

Now if I could just get rid of the Baqua tar.

Check your Flux Capacitor
Here's how

Set the date for 1985
Set the temp for 88 degrees
Climb in and turn the pumps to high
Close your eyes

If the problem doesn't disappear, you have a faulty Flux Capacitor

Doc can help you with getting it replaced.

You failed to explain how I could possibly generate the 1.21 gigawatts of power needed in order to activate the flux capacitor.  Anyone knows you need 1.21.   ???The fact that you left that part out ..................I guess I will I'll rely on the experts from this point forward.
