Great win for DA' Saints last night. The Eagles put up a good effort but couldn't get over the hump. Bonnibelle, hope all survived in your fanatical household. Time now to put away all the feathered accessories and wait till next year. Go Patriots and Bears!!!!

Go Patriots

I hope the Pat's lose every game in every season for the rest of their existance. Matter of fact I hope they don't even get positive yardage. I've had these feelings for a loooong time. I almost dislike them as much as the Boston Red Sox or NY Yankees.

whynot,
What has caused this apparent deep seated hatred for this team? Could it be they are winners on a consistent basis? I am curious as to why, when the patriots seem to keep on winning even after other Teams come and steal some of there better players and coaches who leave for more money. This is not my favorite team but I have a lot of respect for the coaching staff who promotes the team concept which seems to produce championships no matter who comes or goes as players.

Wow, those are strong feelings....do I detect a little envy? ;)

I can understand the big spending Red Sox or the bigger spending Yankees, but in today's NFL with revenue sharing and team balance, you have to admire what the Patriots have accomplished.  They may not be the best, but they are always in the hunt.

Patriot fans have had their share of bad years.  We are fortunate to live through this era.  Someday it may be different, but for now I will enjoy every moment and if I may borrow a phrase from Vermonter....BEWARE THE PATRIOTS! :)

Yes, I do have some envy for the Pats but that's got nothing to do with my feelings about them, esp since my Rams haven't done anything in awhile. :(
Don't get me wrong they're a great team, along with the Yankees and Bosox, it's just that the refs and the media give them way to much help and recognition. Our STL Cardinals won the WS and we got no respect at all and no help from the umps either. All you heard about was how the other teams failed and nothing about how great the Cardinals played. Typical.
I know it's all about revenue but give me a break.

As you age Chad, you will learn to appreciate good football no matter who is playing. Or you could tailspin into a narrow minded football fan. Which was caused by wiping or touching your mouth with grout or terrazzo juice on your hands. :)

Galen,
I certainly hope so but it sure is hard to fathom when some teams have the zebras on the payroll as well. ;)

Well you certainly have had your share of bad calls. For instance, in the 1985 world series, against the Royals, the sixth game, that was a bad call against the Cards. I felt bad about it. But the ump was a cousin of mine and he told me there was no way the Cards were going to win the series if he had anything to do with it. And he was right! Sorry!  8-) Why does everyone pick on St. Louis?

That'a a pretty brazen statement.  I bet you have never put on an 'officials' uniform to understand what WE (no matter what the sport or level) put up with during and after a game.

And to incinuate that WE are prone to taking a bribe?????
Unbelievable!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Chad,
Let me get this straight. Your team St. Louis won the world series and your crying because you feel they didn't get good press!!! Gimme a break JR. As far as your comment about the referees, it doesn't really justify a response but I had to as it shows your lack of maturity. Try officating any sport and see how easy it is. With statements made by you about them it is very obvious you have never been one. You live in the city with the reigning World Champions!! Be proud.

Thanks Arm, you and Galen are right..good football is good football and that was a really great game!  Since we are so familiar with our Eagles, we could see the tremendous holes left when we lost 3 key defensive players. :(  I was just so happy for Jeff Garcia. I guess I always appreciate a feel good story and he was that for us this year...When we thought the season was over, he gave us new life. I just appreciated the extension of the season..

And I will tell you all "they ain't no fans like Eagle fans!!"...for me it is so much fun finding creative ways to celebrate our team! And somehow the Eagles, always community oriented, give back. This year they printed Jeff Garcia shirts and all procedes went to charity....If he doesn't stay with the Eagles next year, I hope he gets a team with lots of money...he deserves it!

We had fun going to pep rallies And being on FOX news with the Swoop head that I made my kids. My youngest son made an Eagles Mardi Gras mask..for a school project and he was on another local TV news...Hubby made the front page of the local newspaper celebrating Eagles Fans in the Delaware Valley!
And Chad, this is what I mean about being a participator...not a just a spectator...(Of course, it was also about being in the right place at the right time ;)) but what a thrill to be part of the excitment and fun!

So lets say there was disappointment, but no one went over the edge (even my husband put it in perspective).  We hit the tub after the game and all that frustration melted away...Today, I will be hoping for Saintly success as they deserve it after so many years of bags on their heads!   :o

And just like the Christmas decorations, Swoop and all the feathers, and  decos will be stored away until we make the playoffs again...
That's OK because when I pulled them out this year ...it was as exciting as the Superbowl season. ;)

It's all good and if you are a real fan..you wear those jerseys all year long  ;D, so they won't be packed away any time soon!

Enjoy the rest of the season guys...it should be lots of fun!

Yep, I'm pulling for the underdog. It will be great if the Saints do go all the way. It's going to be a tough road with Da Bears.

Bonibelle - sorry that the Eagles lost, but I was hoping that the Saints would win....it's a "feel good" story.
On a side note, I hope Eagles fans aren't anything like Flyer fans (sorry to offend anyone), but the fans that come up to the arena when the Flyers play the Devils over the years are not anything to be proud of.  I've been to a lot of different sports venues and I have never witnessed such rude and vulgar fans and this is not an isolated incident, I have witnessed this at several Devils/Flyers games.
Anyway.....back to football.....I'm just sick of the Pats.....I don't hate them though, I respect them....just sick of them.

Bohms, I guess I should differentiate...YES there are Eagle fans that have the reputation as being the rude, disgusting nastiest fans ever...
That is one reason that we won't go to games at the Link...The city had to set up a court in the stadium to gain some control...and the out of control fans went to JAIL.. So I am sure you are seeing that same element with the Flyers fans, and probably the 76's as well...

What I am talking about is the kids and schools that have fun cheering on the team. We had a great time with the Eagles Pep Band..they are awesome themselves. My kids think Swoop, the Eagles Mascot, is cool so we do the Swoop thing....It's all good and fun and is very far removed from the craziness that (mostly the men) partake in at the actual sports events ..Yeah, it was EAgles fans that pelted Santa with snowballs.... so I guess I should have clairfied...
So "they aint no fans like Eagles fans...the really bad and the good"...maybe that's better! ;)
