The standard for new residential construction in this area is now 125 amps.
100 amps was standard when we built our first house.
While our current house was under construction, the cost to upgrade to 200 amps was under $50. I considered that one too good to pass up.
The builder wanted $35 for each extra outlet (electrical, cable, or phone) beyond what was priced into the house. So I considered the $50 for a service upgrade the best bargain in the whole construction.
