After refill, blinking red light - Update
« on: December 24, 2005, 07:58:48 pm »
Figured I would take advantage of the 50+ degree weather we had today so I drained and refilled.

When to turn it on, blinking red light.  No go.

One year old HS Vista.  Any ideas?

That spa should have two breakers. One is for the pumps and the other is for the heater. Turn both off for 5 minutes then turn on the pump breaker and let it the spa for 10 minutes. Then turn on the heater breaker.

Might be an air lock. Do you have flow from the circ pump (water coming out where the heated water normally comes out)? If no, you may have to get the air out of the circ pump. Did you dealer tell you to remove the filter to the circ pump and stcik the hose down that hole. It doesn't gaurantee there will be no air lock but it helps decrease the chances.

I did stick the hose down the filter tube to try and break the air lock.  I am getting flow from the circ pump but it seems much too weak.  I wonder if I should drain and take the circ pump out and check for a clog?

Based on a comment someone made about girgling and how they fixed it, turn off your breakers aad remove the drain cap for a few seconds in case you have an air lock in that line as it should be tied to the cir pump line. Restart one breaker at a time. It sure seems like an air lock.

My manual says that it could be a clogged filter.  Try removing the filter on the gray post and turning it on.  If that works, that filter needs to be cleaned.

Dealer was out first thing this morning.  Tried the usual stuff, no go.  Now he has to start working trial and error and start unplugging components to see which one is the problem.

It turns out that the black box t hat controls the remote control was bad.  Apparently they mounted the box too close to the ozonator and it caused it to go haywire.

Go figure.

Everything is back up and running.  I super clorinated and hope to be soaking soon!

Thanks to all who tried to help.

I'm sorry that I wasn't here to try and help, our store is closed this week for the holidays.  All that being said, I would have never in a million years guessed that to be the problem.  I'm glad they were able to find and fix the problem for you! :)

I would have guessed that in a half a million years, but not sooner.

Yep it had us going for about 30 minutes.  Pull enough things off......and you get your answer.

I was told that HS has told them to mount the IQ box away from the o2 generator.

All is well, love my HS again!!!

That was said with the assumption that this is a Corona Discharge system and not a UV  ozone system.
