Whats your default?
« on: December 03, 2005, 10:36:02 pm »
My tub provided a rare dissapointment today.  This time of year ours is kept at 104.  I over did it at the gym yesterday so I was looking for a good HOT therapy soak tonight.   It was 27 degrees here tonight so you can spend longer at 104 than you can in warmer weather. I didn't even think to look and I got in the tub and thought this doesn't feel right.  I looked at the display and it was flashing, meaning there had been a power failure.  My tub defaults to 95 degrees and 2 hours of filtration as a power up default.  That got me thinking why 95?  Our tub never goes below 98, so I have to wonder why they picked 95F.   What does your tub default to?   To add insult to injury, even though it was 27 degrees, it started to rain.  I will tell you that you don't have the same stay warm time after getting out of the tub at 99 that you do at 104.

I believe mine goes to 101. I also keep mine at 104 this time of year, just went out to get in and it is freezing rain. I don't mind snow, actually like tubbing in it, but have to pass on this stuff.

Mine defaults to 100 and 2 hours filtration also after a power down. I like 102 this time of year. Last night it was 5 above with snowfall and it was perfect for a couple hours and a bunch of beers and BS with my little bro. Cept the hair (what little I have) on the back of my head gets crispy.

I believe that my HS Envoy resets to whatever you had the temperature set to (102 for us) and 24 hr. filtration, of course.  One less thing to worry about in a power failure!

Yea, it was a wierd night last night, the therometer said it was 27 outside, and once we got settled into our 99 degree tub is started raining.  Had a nice soak at 104 this morning though. I could sit in the tub and listen to all the cars sliding down the street this morning as everything has a nice coating of ice. Getting ready to venture out and see how bad it is.  Sunday is lunch at The House of Japan day.

You are correct Tony, all Hotspring spas will automatically go back to the last set temperature, Tiger river too.

The default on my 2004 SA Reward was 102.  The default on my new Epic appears to be the the last set temp.

Hydropool and Coleman default to 100, 2*3 hour filter cycles. They both use Balboa M-7..

Beachcomber defaults to 100. 24 hour with hush pump, 2*6 hour without.

D-1 is 100 degrees, 24 circ plus another cycle with pump 1, which evades m y memory. I do rememmber you can have pump 1 run as many as 4 times a day for a period of time...

I'm pretty sure that my Optima goes back to the last set temperature.  The spa is powered off several times per year for water changes and stuff, but I never have to re=adjust the temperature.
