About that 1986 hot springs sovereign that I got...

I got it started today   very exciting. Ver bubbly.
the moto massage isn't moving, but hopefully I can 'wake it up' one way or another. Overall, I'm very impressed by how strong the jets are.

Now I'm wondering -- how long does it take to heat? What should the water feel like coming out of the vent? In the auto heat mode, yes, there is slightly warm water coming out - very gently, but it's verrrry slight and very gentle.

Is this proper?

It's the 110v model, btw.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to do a full check out tomorrow (in the daylight). I already know I'm rebuilding the pump. Hopefully, no other major leaks will spring up.

Depending on the outside air temp it should take 24 hours or so to heat to 100 or so.  If the moto isnt moto-ing you may have a dirty filter.  Try unsfrewing the cap on the filter and letting it float a little.  This will remove the any restrictions to the flow.  If the moto starts to move then it is a dirty filter.  If the moto still doesnt move then you probably have a broken piece behind the cover plate of the jet.

Have fun with your project!  When you get through, you will have a very servicable spa that will provide you with a great deal of enjoyment.

If you have the original filter, chunk it and buy a new one.  If the MotoMassage still won't operate effectively, check to see if the hose has a split in it or has come unplugged.  If there is a split, buy a new one for around $80.

Can you ID this pump for me?
The starite part is a no brainer
However - is this a PE ?
Anything else I need to know?
